The Cuban Pig Roast tradition was started by Mr. Manuel Cutillas, former chairman of Bacardi Limited, BNT Conservation Legend, and lifelong supporter of Bahamian conservation efforts.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, previous Pig Roast events have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support critical conservation projects across The Bahamas. Below, explore the incredible impact made possible by this event over the years.
Raised: $162,000 | Supported the newly established Seahorse National Park in Eleuthera. Funds were used to hire staff, set up a mobile office, and purchase a park vehicle to mobilize the park’s development.
Raised: $150,000 | Supported the Moriah Harbour Cay National Park. Funds will go towards the development of a Welcome Centre and Park Headquarters to improve park accessibility, education, and community initiatives.
Raised: $100,000 | Supported flamingo conservation in Inagua. Funds helped launch the Invasive Species Control Program to protect flamingo nesting sites using modern, innovative technology.
Supported the Lucayan National Park. Funds went towards the construction of a Visitors’ Centre to enhance recreational and educational experiences in the country’s second most visited national park.
Supported education programs in Andros and New Providence Funds purchased 2 new vans, providing transportation for field trips and conservation education programs for youth on both islands to make park operations more efficient and sustainable.
Supported the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Funds facilitated the installation of park maintenance and operations equipment on Warderick Wells Cay.
